[1] Greetings.
==================================================================
Hi All:
For those of us involved in party planning and holiday decorating, you may
be interested in an upcoming market research study being conducted by Pam
Danziger. Their reports are quite good, and are right on target in the
industry.
We have more on the Red Hat Ladies. That seems to be something to
capitalize on. Why limit the Red Hats and purple dresses to ladies over
50? Why not have "Junior Red Hats" or "Kiddie Red Hats?" Seems to me it
could be a lucrative business venture.
Today we are featuring ImportExportHelp.com a business focusing on
importing/exporting. Tell us about your business which will remain for
posterity at our "Members: Who Are You?" site.
http://etailersdigest.com/resources/members/index.htm And we have a form
there for you to tell us about you. As I said when I first proposed this
idea, we have "known" each other for a long time, yet we often don't know
anything about each other. So, tell us who you are and what you do.
Now, let's get to everything for the retailer.
Sincerely
George Matyjewicz, PhD
Chief Global Strategist, GAP Enterprises, Ltd.

[2] Holiday Decorating Research
==================================================================
Unity Marketing is calling for Sponsors for a major Consumer Research Study
on Christmas, Holiday and Party Decorating and Decorations Purchases.
You have probably heard how the end of the cocooning trend and the
emergence of the new connecting trend is distinguished by consumers turning
away from buying purely decorative home accents, while seeking solutions to
get rid of unnecessary clutter that has accumulated in their homes.
The one exception to the new 'anti-clutter' movement is Christmas and
holiday decorating. Consumers are expressing a new and growing passion for
more decorations to help them celebrate important holidays throughout the
year. And not just Christmas, but Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Easter are
becoming an important new seasonal decorating opportunity.
To help decorations marketers and retailers better understand the bright
opportunities available in helping consumers with their holiday decorating
needs, Unity Marketing is launching a new research study of the holiday and
event decorating market with an in-depth quantitative research study among
holiday decorators and decorations buyers. A total of 500-750 holiday
decorators & buyers will be surveyed.
With the focus on the consumer, their needs, desires and preferences, Unity
Marketing is launching a major research study of consumer holiday
decorating and buying behavior that will include statistics about:
o Which holidays they decorate for and whether they focus their decorations
inside and/or outside of the home
o What decorations they use for each holiday, including Valentine's Day,
Easter, Halloween, Christmas and 8 other major holidays
o What holidays they purchased decorations for in the past year and what
items they bought
o Did they buy decorations to celebrate any special events, such as
birthdays, weddings, showers, reunions, etc.
o How much was spent buying decorations for each holiday or event
o Which stores do they prefer to buy decorations
o Trends in spending on decorations and whether or not they are placing
more emphasis on decorating now and into the future
Deliverables will include: input on survey questionnaire design, addition
of your brand name to brand awareness and purchase incidence sections of
the questionnaire, topline quantitative survey results with demographic
cross-tabs within 1 week of survey fielding, detailed analysis report and
telephone consultation about key findings and implications.
Plus you will get an early read on the results of the research ahead of
everybody else and insider information only available to sponsors.

[3] Red Hat Society Steps Up Commercial Activity
==================================================================
The Red Hat Society (RHS), the organization founded by Sue Ellen Cooper in
1997, signed licensing agreements with 17 gift, apparel, and home vendors,
including Boyds Bears, Christopher Radko, Flowers Inc. Balloons, and Sole
Source Greetings, to sell product bearing the Red Hat Society name and
logo. The products are for sale on the RHS website and in its retail store,
Imperium, as well as through independent retailers. According to the
Society's director of press and public relations, Cathy Risling, RHS is
focused on protecting its name by offering "quality products at an
affordable price." RHS will also work to avoid confusion in the marketplace
with the profusion of "red hat" products by contacting non-licensed
manufacturers that it feels are infringing on the copyrighted RHS name.
"While imitation can be a form of flattery, the Red Hat Society has an
obligation to protect its brand in the marketplace," said Sabrina
Contreras, RHS v.p. of merchandise and product development. Risling said
the RHS will also have a greater presence at the summer gift shows,
supporting its licensees. The RHS claims 21,000 chapters with 500,000
members in more than 20 countries, and is growing at a rate of 500 new
chapters a week.

ImportExportHelp.com provides international trade and B2B resources
including trade directories of importers and training materials to help
start or expand an import-export business. Our trade directories of
international importers can help you stop searching for buyers and start
selling to them.
We have been in business since 1988 and the publishers we deal with are 33
years old. Additionally we are well positioned on the Internet and receive
over 60,000 visitors monthly which can give your product or service great
exposure to a very targeted audience.
A personal interest in international trade drove me to research and find
much "little known" information. I compiled that information into several
reports and began selling them by mailorder in 1988 and the rest is history.
We market our business primarily through our website and our own free
Global B2B Newsletter. It costs nothing to visit our web site and nothing
to subscribe to our newsletter. Our trade directories vary in prices
ranging from $200 up to a complete set which is over $1,900.
Please visit our website at:
http://www.importexporthelp.com and look for the blue subscription box
located on the right side bar of all our pages.
